Latest Memories
Mr. Tembung Njoh Wanduku Son November 18, 2015

Oh Papa,

Too difficult to think, I will see you no more. Caring as you are and always ready to go the extra mile to keep us save and secure. You did your very best to raise us up to the point where we are and gave in your last energy to educate and train us. You also supported many others with whom we grew up in the same home and this I shall always remember and keep this good example. During your last days when I was with you in the hospital, it was a very difficult and trial moments for me to stand, seeing modern medicine being limited to remedy your health situation. However, I am comforted by your trust in the Lord and your decision to surrender all to the Lord Jesus and my hope is that one day we shall meet again in paradise to depart no more and where there will be no more sorrows.

Oh Papa, safe journey to eternity and rest in peace.

Dr. Tito Wanduku Son November 18, 2015

Pa Wan alias “Repe Wan”

Writing your biography and selecting pictures for your memoire has been the single most painful and difficult experience in my life. I have always said boldly that I would be lucky to accomplish half of what you have achieved during your life span -in family, in profession and in society. You are every bit of what I want to be and long to be. I am exceedingly grateful to the life you lived because your example shows me light in this world and directs my path through every dark and narrow road. Your faith in me has been the most rewarding thing a father can give the son. Those words you always tell me whenever you observe my efforts pursuing goals “I know you will be a successful person in life”. That faith in me still motivates me through all the barriers of life and to achieve more and go higher in life. I find it difficult to list all the things I owe gratitude to you because there is no ending to that list and not one thing is less important than the others.  But thank you for being such a fatherly birth father.

READING AND EXALTATION OF WORDS OF WISDOM

Job 14:1-2; 5 (NIV)

Psalm 39:4-5 (NIV)

1Man born of woman

is of few days and full of trouble.

2He springs up like a flower and withers away;

like a fleeting shadow, he does not endure.

5Man’s days are determined;

You have decreed the number of his months and

have set limits he cannot exceed.

4Show me, O LORD, my life’s end

And the number of my days;

Let me know how fleeting my life is.

5You have made my days a mere handbreadth;

The span of my years is as nothing before you.

Each man’s life is but a breath.

HYMNS OF PRAISE TO GOD

HYMN 1: MY HOPE IS BUILT ON NOTHING LESS

HYMN 2: WHEN I SURVEY THE WONDROUS CROSS

1My hope is built on nothing less

Than Jesus Blood and righteousness;

I dare not trust my sweetest fame.

But wholly lean on Jesus’ Name

On Christ the solid rock, I stand;

All other ground is sinking sand.

2When darkness seems to veil His face,

I rest on His changing grace;

In every high and stormy gale,

My anchor holds within the veil:

3His oath, His covenant and blood;

Support me in the whelming flood

When all around my soul gives way,

He then is all my hope and stay.

When I survey the wondrous cross

On which the Prince of Glory died,

My richest gain I count but loss

And pour contempt on all my pride

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,

Save in the death of Christ, my God;

All the vain things that charm me most,

I sacrifice them to His blood

See from His head, His hands, His feet,

Sorrow and love flow mingled down:

Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,

Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

Were the whole realms of nature mine?

That were an offering far too small;

Love so amazing, so divine,

Demands my soul, my live, my all

HYMN 3: WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD

HYMN 4: HE KNOWS IT ALL, MY TOTAL HEART

When we walk with the LORD

In the light of His Word

What a glory He sheds on our way!

While we do His good will, He abides with us still,

And with all who will trust and obey

                Trust and obey, for there’s no other way

                To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,

But His smile quickly drives it away:

Not a doubt nor a fear, not a sigh nor a tear,

Can abide while we trust and obey

Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,

But our toil He doth richly repay

Not a grieve nor a loss, not a frown nor a cross,

But is blest if we trust and obey

But we can never prove the delight of His love,

Until all on the altar we lay

For the favour He show and the joy He bestows,

Are for them who will trust and obey.

Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,

Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,

What He says we will do,

Where He sends we will go,

Never fear, only trust and obey.

He knows my thoughts, my ways, my deeds;

My Jesus knows it all.

Every part of me His hands hath made,

He knows, He knows it all.

He knows it all, my total heart.

Nothing is hidden from my Lord

He knows, He knows it all.

In darkness or in bright sunlight,

He knows, He knows it all.

The depths  beneath the heights above,

He knows, He knows it all.

He knows it all, my total heart,

He notes and takes into account,

What’re I do or say.

He plans my ways, He directs me,

He knows, He knows it all.

In time of woe in time of joy

He knows, He knows it all.

He plans for me is in His hands,

He plans and controls everything,

Yes, Jesus knows it all.

My life on earth, my Jesus knows,

He knows, He knows it all.

If I should leave this earthly home,

Jesus has one for me.

Jesus loves me beyond compare

I am the sheep of His pasture

He loves me this I know.

READING AND EXALTATION FROM THE WORD OF GOD

Psalm 89:47-48

47Remember how fleeting my life is. For what futility you have created all men!

48What man can live and not see death, or save himself from the power of the grave?

HYMNS

HYMN 1. Whither, pilgrims are you going (578)

HYMN 3: There’s a land that is fairer than day  (61)

1Whither, pilgrims are you going,

Going each with staff in hand?

We are going on a journey

Going at our King’s command;

Over hills and plains and valleys,

We are going to His palace,

Going to the better land.

2Fear ye not the way so lonely,

You a little, feeble band?

No; for friends unseen are near us,

Holy angels round us stand;

Christ, our Leader, walks beside us;

He will guard, and He will guide us,

Guide us to the better land.

3Tell us, pilgrims, what you hope for

In that far-off better land?

Spotless robes and crowns of glory,

From a Saviour’s loving hand;

We shall drink of life’s clear river,

We shall dwell with God for ever,

In that bright and better land.

4Pilgrims, may we travel with you

To that bright and better land?

Come and welcome, come and welcome,

Welcome to our pilgrim band.

Come, O come, and do not leave us;

Christ in waiting to receive us

In that bright and better land.

1There’s  a land that is fairer than day

And by faith we can see it afar;

For the Father waits over the way

To prepare us a dwelling place there.

          In the sweet by and by,

          We shall meet on that beautiful shore.

          In the sweet by and by

          We shall meet on that beautiful shore

2We shall sing on that beautiful shore

The melodious songs of the blest,

And our spirits shall sorrow no more,

Not a sigh for the blessing of rest.

2To our bountiful Father above,

We will offer the tribute of praise

For the glorious gift of His love

And the blessings that hallow our days.

HYMN 3: My hope is built on nothing less (697)

1My hope is built on nothing less

Than Jesus Blood and righteousness;

I dare not trust my sweetest fame.

But wholly lean on Jesus’ Name

On Christ the solid rock, I stand;

All other ground is sinking sand.

2When darkness seems to veil His face,

I rest on His changing grace;

In every high and stormy gale,

My anchor holds within the veil:

3His oath, His covenant and blood;

Support me in the whelming flood

When all around my soul gives way,

He then is all my hope and stay.

HYMN 4 : All to Jesus I surrender (32)

HYMN 5: Nearer, my God to Thee (475, 40)

1All to Jesus I surrender,

All to Him I freely give;

I will ever love and trust Him,

In His presence daily live.

                I surrender all;

                All to Thee, my blessed Saviour,

                I surrender all.

2All to Jesus I surrender,

Humbly at His feet I bow;

Wordly pleasures all forsaken,

Take me, Jesus, take me now!

3All to Jesus I surrender,

Make me, Saviour, wholly Thine;

Let the Holy Spirit witness,

I am Thine and Thou art mine.

4All to Jesus I surrender,

Lord, I give myself to Thee;

Fill me with Thy love and power,

Let Thy blessing fall on me.

5All to Jesus I surrender;

Now I feel the sacred flame.

Ah, the joy of full salvation!

Glory, glory to His name!

1Nearer, my God, to thee,

Nearer to thee;

E’en though it be a cross

That raiseth me,

Still all my song shall be-

Nearer, my God, to Thee!

Nearer, my God, to Thee!

Nearer to Thee!

2Though, like the wanderer,

The sun goes down,

Darkness be over me,

My rest a stone,

Yet in my dream I’d be

Nearer, my God, to Thee.

Nearer, my God, to Thee!

Nearer to Thee!

3There let the way appear steps unto heaven;

All that Thou sendest me, in mercy given;

Angles to beckon me

Nearer, my God, to Thee!

Nearer, my God to Thee!

Nearer to Thee!

4Then with my waking thoughts

Bright with Thy praise,

Out of my stony griefs

Bethel  I’ll raise;

So by my woes to be

Nearer, my God, to Thee

Nearer, my God, to Thee,

Nearer to Thee!

5Or if on joyful wings

Cleaving the sky,

Sun, moon, and stars forgot,

Upwards I fly,

Still all my song shall be,

Nearer, my God, to Thee;

Nearer, my God to Thee,

Nearer to Thee!

Faith & Liam Kamfa , Canada granddaughter and grandson November 14, 2015

Grandpa

We cannot believe that you are gone. Even though we will not see you again, we like to say a big thank you, first of all for giving us our mom, for the wonderful times we had when you came to Canada, and the time we spent with you when we visited you in Cameroon. Grandpa, we remember how you will take us to the park, and tell us stories about mama when she was young, your infectious laughter, and the smile you had whenever you saw us. Grandpa we know that death has taken you away from us so soon but we know for sure that it has not taken away the memories we have of the things you did for us, the care you showed us, the sound of your voice, the wisdom you shared, a piece of advice we will never forget, and the examples you set. Grandpa, I and my brother will forever be proud to be your grandchildren and promise you that we will live our lives to make you a proud grandfather
Mrs. Delphine Agyngy nee Wanduku Daughter November 14, 2015

Papa,

It’s still like a dream. I can’t believe you are gone. I can’t believe that I will never see you, hear your voice or hold your hand again. Death has consumed us again. I thank God for the wonderful opportunity of having been your child and having you as my father. There are not enough words that can describe how much you did for us and how much you and Mamie sacrificed for us and our wellbeing. You both gave up everything to make sure we lived lives to the fullest and acquire education to the highest levels. I am very grateful for all you and Mamie gave us. You were present from the day we were all born, you were present into our youths and until we are adults you were present. You provided for us to the best of your ability. You made us princes and princesses in the society. People that have passed through you know you as “Pa Wan”, the great biology teacher and principal but we knew you, not only as a teacher but the greatest father. Papa, when you visited us in the US, your grandchildren remember when you will sit with them on the coach and laugh. Papa, I remember when I visited in Yaounde at Fri’s place and immediately, I walked in the room, you saw me, you said, “Del, how are you doing?”. You looked so frail because of your illness, but you still managed to put on a smile. Papa, even though death has taken you away from me, you will always and forever be my hero. I know you are in a better place with the Lord. Away, from all the pain and troubles of this world. I love you and miss you Papa.

This passage speaks of the resurrection of our loved ones. It is not God's plan to see us suffer and die, so He extends the following invitation to us: "Come near to God and He will draw near to you" (James 4:8)

Mathias Tezock A Humble Prince Goes Home. November 20, 2015

Enormously sad to read of Pa Wanduku's death. He is now in a better place up there but on Earth many must thank the Maker for giving him to humanity. Unassuming, intelligent and straight-forward, Pa Wanduku guided many generations of today medical doctors, scientists and engineers in Cameroonian schools. He introduced our class (1976-1981) and many others to biology and human biology from infancy to GCE laureats at the then GSS/GHS Mbengwi, usually lecturing spontaneously and without elaborate notes. We miss Pa Wanduku and pray to the Almighty Lord to welcome a most humble prince of natural sciences in Heaven.
